about the site
It wasn't long after I started playing the main games of the Final Fantasy series that I fell in love with the music, but for a long time all the only way I could hear it was, well, playing the games. That changed, though, when I found out that most of the soundtracks are available to buy on the iTunes music store and went a little crazy using up all of the giftcards I had to get all of my favorites. From that point on, I found myself listening to the soundtracks just as much as I listened to my other favorite artists.
To this day, I'll happily put my entire Final Fantasy playlist on shuffle and remember the games with all of the different songs. Sometimes I'll take a week and listen to nothing but the FF soundtracks in order; it doesn't matter how long it takes, I love every minute. I used to prefer Uematsu's work for the series over other composers, but I've come to enjoy each and every OST in its own way. I had the chance to go to one of the Distant Worlds concerts in 2010, and while I haven't had a chance to go again since, it was an incredible experience that I'll treasure for the rest of my life.
This fanlisting was originally established by Blair in September 2003, and she adopted it out to me in June 2010. This layout, version two, uses artwork from Theatrhythm: Curtain Call and a modified texture from Hybrid Genesis for the background. (Seriously, go play Theatrhythm, it's like FF music: The Game.) The site name comes from the epoynmous song from FFV, both because I feel that it's an iconic song for the series and because the series music is like a dear friend who's always there for you when you need it. ♥
