Introduction

Final Fantasy XIII

Released in 2009 in Japan and 2010 in the rest of the world, Final Fantasy XIII is the highly anticipated thirteenth installment of the Final Fantasy series and the first released for the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360 consoles. Set in a world called Cocoon floating high above a larger world called Pulse, it follows the story of a group of people marked as l'Cie, chosen to carry out a mysterious Focus given by the fal'Cie. They are stuck with the choice of trying to save their world or follow their Focus and destroy it.

Oerba Yun Fang & Oerba Dia Vanille

Vanille is a bubbly, cheerful girl who's never without a smile on her face, a contrast to the more serious Fang (though the latter is certainly playful when it suits her). Vanille is introduced as a victim of the Purge, a forcible relocation of the citizens of Cocoon who had had the misfortune of being near the Pulse fal'Cie at the Bodhum Vestige. Fang appears later as a l'Cie in the company of the Cavalry, a branch of Cocoon's military. Their story weaves together the events of Final Fantasy XIII, from the events of the thirteen days prior to the game's start to the conclusion.
