I can't remember exactly how I came across the Trails series, but I know I bought and started the first game in 2016. The problem is this: it's a long, story-heavy JRPG, and I don't particularly like playing those on PC; I'd rather play on console or handheld.

So it wasn't until I got a Steam Deck in 2024 that I came back to Trails in the Sky. From everything I knew about the game, I knew it would be to my taste, and sure enough I absolutely loved playing through it. I have some qualms with story points (especially in the second game) but it all pales before my love for Estelle Bright. Watching her grow across the course of the story was incredibly satisfying, and on top of that the localization really gave her a ton of character.

I really waffled on a name for this site; thanks especially to Lethe for brainstorming with me (and shooting down the worse ideas). Ultimately Estelle is all about the strength of her heart, so I couldn't go with anything else.
