Arcane, which is directly inspired by the popular game League of Legends, is a two-season series of nine episodes each. The story follows orphaned sisters Vi and Powder and takes place in the twin cities of Piltover and Zaun, the former a beacon of technology and progress, the latter a downtrodden undercity run by criminal enterprises.
Released in three-episode arcs across both seasons, Arcane follows the sisters through the event that separates them in their youth, then skips ahead to show how they've grown in the time apart. Meanwhile, scientists Jayce and Viktor discover a way to harness magical energy for the common man, and revolutionize Piltover — but not Zaun.
